Shrek, Shrek 2, Shrek the Third, and Shrek Forever After
PG — The fun began in 2001, when the original Shrek premiered in theaters. In a faraway swamp, there lived an ogre named Shrek whose precious solitude is suddenly shattered by an invasion of annoying fairy tale characters — all banished from their kingdom by the evil Lord Farquaad. The cast included Mike Meyers, Eddie Murphy, John Lithgow, and Cameron Diaz.
Now you can stream the original film, plus the three that followed it, for a very Shrek-y movie marathon. In Shrek 2 (2004), Shrek and his bride Fiona learn that her parents are unaware of the curse that struck their daughter and have assumed she married Prince Charming, not a 700-pound ogre with horrible hygiene. In Shrek the Third (2010), word arrives that the Shrek's froggy father-in-law is about to croak, and the last thing Shrek wants is to become King. Then in Shrek Forever After (2010), Shrek is long-settled into married life and fully domesticated, but begins to long for the days when he felt like a real ogre. (Netflix, September 1st Premiere)
